Zipps Sports Grill

We showed up on a Saturday night and they were very busy. Even with that we were sat very quick and drink orders taken. My burger was very good and my wife's wings were excellent. We both had the fries and onion rings and I would not recommend either one. I would give the fries 3 stars and onion rings a solid 1. A bit loud but it's a sports bar so that's to be expected. Great service and friendly though.

Update 23Jan2024: Gigi and I are back in Phoenix for a Dr. visit and lunch at the nearby Zips. We found the food and service still the best. I shared a basket of Chicken Skewers with Gigi and a guest. Still love the Golden sauce and this time the 2nd sauce is Blue Cheese for a cool counter to the spicy Golden. Large selection of food and drinks. We enjoyed the Focaccia wraps. My Steak Focaccia was tender and a bit messy, because they cut it into quarters. I will ask that it be cut in half next time. My Margarita was made to order on the rocks and excellent (Zipps features frozen margaritas). Christy, the bar tender was very accommodating. We will return. Update 9Aug22: we have returned several times and tried the chili chicken egg rolls (pictured below as served and sliced open to apply the sauce) and we shared a BLT with 1/4 lb of bacon.

Food was good, our waitress was AWFUL, and it overall had a good atmosphere. The staff at this location were lazy and not attentive to their guests plus we waited extra cause our waitress spent more time talking with her peers/coworkers rather than helping her customers. If I ever go back I'll definitely be sitting at the bar to hopefully have better service.

This is a dynamically adjusted review based on probably 25+ visits. As we all know, service quality is COMPLETELY based on the life and day of your server but geeeez..... my servicer must have been thing through a divorce on one of my times here. Too funny. Bruh, the bartender had to get my dude twice. Once after 16 minutes, the serving time when I thought he was off since he was so ghost. I ordered 2 drinks & a salad but that was too complicated. My server told me, "You might be feeling neglected because you are hot (upset that my team is losing), but you aren't." Yeah, l concede that he was busy, but come on man, I shouldn't have to ask the table next to me for a straw, a second server for a napkin or the barkeep twice for a salad. Additionally the food is solid , but come on.....avocado is 33 cents each.... not $3 for an 1/8th..... that's a bit much guys..... I'm not going to stop coming here, but disunity in training protocol, expectations & accountability can wear even the most loyal down. Oddly enough, I get treated better in a suit vs jersey. Let's be virtuous fellas.....we know this isn't your career, but let's AT LEAST be good people despite our circumstances. Edit: Time at zipps #20+/- , come on guys. If I call ahead, & you say a game is on the screen, actually check or be sure. I drove here for nothing. This rating will adjust dynamically as moral/ethics improves.

We love Zipps, but this location is not it. Two times now, we have arrived at 10 am to watch the games. By 3 pm, we've had 4 doubles, but that's over the course of five hours, including food and waters in between. Two times now, we were "cut off" because they limit you to "10 drinks per visit". This policy does not take into account length of time you're there, behavior, etc. 10 drinks (or 5 doubles - I can assure you this was not a strong pour) can effect everyone differently, and while I can appreciate Zipps wanting to serve alcohol appropriately, this is not a universal approach. While we sat at our table totally coherent and appropriate, we watched dozens of others stumbling into the bathroom, and at one point, a girl falling asleep on one of the tables outside, but continuing to order drinks. We told the manager that we had noticed this behavior so we weren't sure why we were the ones cut off, to which he responded "they were like that when we got here". We emphasized we had seen them park outside the restaurant so they were going to be driving home, but that didn't seem to matter to him. If you plan on wanting to watch most of the games on a Sunday, plan to have to relocate mid afternoon game if you'd like to continue to be served.
